Summary

I've never seen anything like the Chiefs 2022 schedule.  It starts with an insanely tough AFC West but the rest is brutal as the Chiefs only have three games out of 17 against teams Vegas has projected  under .500.  This will be hard.    While the Royals are having no fun, the Angels are partying like its 1999.  After a rookie pitcher tossed a no-hitter earlier this week, you won't believe what a veteran hitter did in the 8th inning leading 8-0 Thursday night.  We've never, ever seen this.   A new report out quotes anonymous Hollywood execs and PR leader that say they are "nervous" and "scared" to make comments about Roe v Wade being overturned.  This is another win for America after Disney got pounded by the state of Florida.   And Elon Musk has Wall Street nervous as he says his purchase of Twitter is on hold.  I think I know exactly what he's doing and if he is, it's brilliant.

For about 20 years, I've been ignoring the strength of schedule projections for NFL teams that come out when the schedule is released and the Chief's schedule is out

0:21.0

and it is absolutely brutal. The reason I've ignored the projections that immediately come out

0:25.4

is almost all of them, almost all of them, are completely based on what teams did last year.

0:32.0

The classic example here is the Chiefs will play the Broncos twice this season. They played

0:36.4

them twice last season. The Broncos a far different team a year ago, then they will likely be with Russell Wilson as their quarterback. So when we go to look at schedules, if we look at teams and we see who the Chiefs are going to play, you cannot go off of last season. By going by last season, I think most schedule analysis people have the Chiefs

0:55.8

with the fourth or fifth hardest schedule in the league. But I cannot find a more difficult

1:00.3

schedule. It would be easy to say that, look, one of the other teams in the AFC West has the

1:05.3

most difficult schedule because they play the Chiefs twice, whereas the Chiefs get to play

1:09.3

the Raiders twice, the Broncos twice,

1:16.7

the chiefs are better than those teams. I always say this in the Big 12 with basketball.

1:21.2

Kansas always has the toughest strength of schedule. I say, yeah, but Iowa State has to play KU twice, and KU doesn't have to play KU twice. Nobody ever factors that in. So it's sort of a chicken and egg thing as far as that's concerned. But the teams the chiefs have to go play outside of the division is simply outrageous. They got the Super Bowl champs, the Rams, they've got Tampa, they got Tennessee again, they've got the Bengals. I mean, you just go up and down the schedule.

It's one after another.

1:46.9

It's just one great team after another that the Chiefs play.

1:50.5

Truly great teams.

1:52.3

I mean, opening the season as Arizona is not some cakewalk in their first game.

1:58.2

That's no gimmy.

1:59.1

That's no layup.

2:01.0

But that's one of the easiest games on the schedule.

2:04.3

Arizona, based on what we know about what they are in their quarterback situation and things

that's one of the easier games on the schedule.
