Hey, everyone. Welcome to Sports Spectrum. I am Jason Romano. Great to have you joining us here on the show today. Excited about our guest, Chase Anderson. Chase is a pitcher with the Toronto Blue Jays and pitched for a few seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers prior to that. It was actually drafted and selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2009 MLB draft

in the ninth round, signed with the D-backs and was making his Major League Baseball debut, May 6, 2014

with Arizona, allowed one earn run on two hits and five and a third innings of work,

and he got the win in his debut.

And he pits pretty well in 2015.

And then January of 2016, Chase was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in a five-team deal.

And in May of 2017, against his old team,

Arizona, he took a no-hitter into the eighth inning. And another fellow sports spectrum alum,

Nick Ahmed, broke up Anderson's no-hit bid. Pitched a couple years in Milwaukee and then Toronto comes calling. November 4th, 2019, Chase Anderson was

traded to the Blue Jays in exchange for Chad Spanberger and now Chase looking for the 2020

season to be a solid contributor for the Toronto Blue Jays in their starting rotation. Chase is a great guy,

a great man of faith, and I think you'll enjoy hearing his story, especially over the past

year and what God has done as he's moved on from Milwaukee to Toronto as getting ready for

the 2020 season. It's an interesting time for Chase Anderson in his journey as a major league baseball player.

No, it's good to be back.

It's fun to do this live. Yeah. And we're doing it at a conference in Florida, and you now are a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. When we last talked, you were the Milwaukee Brewers pitcher, and suddenly a trade happened. So how does it feel? Is it still a little foreign and weird when I call you Toronto Blue Jays pitcher, Chase Anderson? Yeah, that hasn't really sunk in yet. I think by time spring training gets here and you get the uniform on, and that kind of stuff, it's going to feel more real. But I'm looking forward to the new opportunity and the new challenge of, you know, getting up and moving again and, you know, going through the trade process again but it's nothing new

and like I said I'm looking forward to to representing a city as well as the country going to Canada

yeah I've heard nothing but great things about Toronto and the people there so we're looking forward to it's a great city
