Tyler Robinson, will be allowed to wear civilian clothing in court in Utah while he awaits trial

for the assassination of the conservative activist, but a judge has ruled he must remain restrained

during proceedings for safety reasons. During a virtual hearing on Monday, Judge Tony Graff said Robinson's right to the

presumption of innocence outweighs the inconvenience of dressing him in street clothes, noting the

case's extraordinary public attention. Robinson's lawyer argued pre-trial news coverage featuring

his client in prison garb could result in juror bias. But Graf did not go as far as Robinson hoped.

He denied the request to remove the restraints, citing the seriousness of the aggravated murder

charge, which could bring the death penalty. Robinson, age 22, appeared remotely from jail

with his camera off and his next schedule to appear January 16th and January 30th. As Robinson prepares for trial,

his transgender partner, Lance Twiggs, has mysteriously vanished from St. George, Utah,

six weeks after the shooting September 10th. Authorities say Twigs, who is also 22,

received a string of text messages from Robinson confessing to the killing and detailing his

attempts to hide the weapon

before turning himself in. Twigs, who had been living with Robinson after being estranged from his

devout Mormon parents, has not been seen at the couple's $1,800 a month apartment since Robinson's

arrest. His Infinity FX-35 now sits in his parents' driveway. Neighbors say the home has been quiet and local police have not

confirmed his current whereabouts. Relatives and former friends described Twigs as a bright student

who struggled after being kicked out of his family home in 2018. He reportedly reconciled with

his parents in recent years, as is shown by recent Venmo payments labeled for prescriptions and gas money from

family members. Investigators maintain that Twigs is not charged with any crime and has been

cooperating with authorities, but his disappearance has fueled speculation amid the ongoing fallout
