Welcome to slow more. Today's guest has been an anchor in European media for more than 40 years.

Charles Grunhisen has been beloved and reliable as a public figure in the

Dutch news media. He started in the mid-80s when he became the youngest chief correspondent ever to be

stationed in Washington, D.C. overseeing all US news for Dutch television. In the 90s, he became the anchor man for Nova

and the political program it capital.

Those were the two most important news shows on Dutch television at the time.

And in 1996, Charles returned to the US when he became the Bureau Chief for

NOS TV and Radio based in Washington.

Nowadays, he is an independent writer, a speaker,

a consultant, and he has written many columns

and a number of best-selling books

on American culture and politics.

So why is he on slow mow?

Because Charles, with all the experience he has in news media,

publicly states and believes that today's media can do better.

That I think is a very interesting topic for us to discuss on Sloma.
