The Devil You Know, but before I get to Charles Blow I wanted to talk about the budget

reconciliation process now don't fall asleep and don't fast forward this is

important it's something you'll probably be hearing a lot about and you probably

heard a lot about lately we've probably heard a lot about

lately we want to talk about how it works and how it's going to get more vaccines

in the streets and those stimulus checks in our pockets. So in case you missed it this past Tuesday, the Senate voted to advance a

budget resolution that would support President Biden's 1.9 trillion dollar

COVID relief package. On Wednesday, the House approved its budget resolution measure.

What this does is it instructs each of the 11 policymaking committees in Congress to draft

up laws implementing President Biden's proposal.

So that's $1,400 stimulus checks.

That's expanded unemployment insurance.

That's money for more vaccines.

That's over 350 billion dollars for state and more vaccines. That's over 350 billion dollars for state and local

governments. That's 130 billion to safely reopen schools. That's a $3,000 tax

credit per child up to age 17 and a $3,600 tax credit per child under age 6.

That's a $15 minimum wage.

All in, that's checks and pockets, shots and arms, and money for state

and local government services that we rely on and will only need 51 votes to do it, so we don't need the Republicans to do anything anymore.

What's important to note here is that the budget reconciliation process can be used for everything
