I've been teaching on pride and humility a subject that is probably ignored more than it should be.

And I don't really think it's something that people think about or even study as much as they should.

And the Bible says in multiple places in different ways that if you exalt yourself God will humble you and if you humble

yourself God will exalt you so the way up is down and the way down is up. God doesn't do math the

same way that we do it. And during the break we were thinking about what Philippians too says about Jesus.

I'm not going to open up and try to read it because I think I can quote it good enough that you'll remember it. It says that

although he was God and in the farm of God and possessed all the attributes of God.

He did not think it was something that had to be grasped,

but he willingly laid it aside. Can you imagine being God and then becoming a human being

being a human being? That would be, and this is a poor example,

but that would be like me saying,

I'll become an ant for the ant kingdom

and knowing I was going to get stepped on

and walked on.

And it says because he, because he humbled himself,

became a human being,

a human being.

God has highly exalted him

and given him a name above every name

that at the name of Jesus every knee must bow.
