And we get into the word. We want to say to all the fathers, happy Father's Day and blessed Father's Day.

I want to share with you some Father's Day quotes that I've sort of accumulated over the years.

These are just my favorite all-time Father's Day quotes. And I want to share them with you. The first is from Mark Twain, who's so humorously quipped. When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant. I could hardly stand to have the old man around.

But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.

Along that same line of thinking, Margaret Truman said,

it's only when you grow up and step back from him or leave him for your own home,

it's only then that you can measure his greatness and fully appreciate it.

Billy Graham is quoted as saying, a good father is one of the

most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.

It's this last one that always gets me and gets to me.

The story is told of how one night a father had overheard his son praying.

And his son prayed this,

Dear God, make me the kind of man my daddy is later that night the father prayed dear God make me the

kind of man my son thinks I am boy if that doesn't. The prophet Malachi in the first part of verse 6 of chapter 4

writes, he will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the

children to their fathers. At this time, let's have all the fathers stand up. We want to pray and

bless and honor the fathers today, if you would please, and remain standing as we do.
