Previously, on Firebug, I started to tell you about my 30-year journey with a novel called Points of Origin.

In that novel, a serial arsonist named Aaron set a bunch of fires that were almost identical to real fires.

Now, I'm trying to figure out where the fiction meets the facts.

Here's an excerpt from Points of Origin.

Aaron is preparing to drive North to an arson investigator's conference in Fresno.

Aaron sat at his dining room table, putting together several of his devices.

The morning sun was shining brightly, but the Santa Ana winds had died down.

He lay on his bed and lit one of the devices, setting it in an astray on the nightstand.

It was 915.

He lay on his side, fondling himself.

At 924, the flame erupted.

As did Aaron's climax.

In 10 minutes, Aaron was in his car heading north on Interstate 5 toward Fresno when the annual arson investigator's conference.

Aaron had attended the annual conference for years.
