I have such a great recommendation for you this time around. Normally, I have to kind of vamp,

or I have to think something up, but this time I actually couldn't wait to suggest this one

to a group of women.

So all of the trigger warnings, because this is not a very nice journey over the eight episodes

for the person that experiences the most of it, but Gaslit, Gaslit, starring Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, Dan Stevens.

It is a retelling of the Watergate story that is very sympathetic to Marsha McGovern.

And it is, I'm no history buff, especially on this period.

You know, I know some basics from Rachel Maddow and Ken Burns and shit.

But, like, you know, I've never really delved deeply into Watergate.

But my view of it is very much that John Dean got to sell his side of the story.

Dan Stevens, Matthew from Doubton Abbey, plays John Dean.

Does a great job.

Great job.

They acknowledge that his voice isn't quite there in the eighth episode in the best possible way.

But he really does a great job.

And it makes Dan Stevens just look like

an incompetent, soppy child coming out of an ocean that the waves hit him too hard the

entire way through. Instead of this hero or his particular view of things, he's constantly just the bag man and reacting wildly.

And it's great.
