Look, Genovese, right there on the street.

Jessica and I are with our producer Claire at St. John's Cemetery in Queens.

I've seen this in pictures.

This is one of the first reporting trips we recorded way back at the start of this year.

We're in the place where our queen, Anna Genovese, is buried right next to her husband,

Vito, in the Genovese family vault.

This is the place where her story ends.

This angel.

So her arms are folded very defiantly.

We are looking at a big tombstone that says Genovese and we know from cemetery records.

Anna was buried here in 1982, but we can't find her name.

Right, just a massive stone slab with the carving of a

palm frond and the words family vault engraved into it. I'm a little

confused. I think we'll find that separate stones. Okay. Well, like I said, this says 11E19.

Anna's name is not carved into any kind of stone anywhere.

It is weird. It feels, it's very, a littleactic. You know in a way I didn't I guess I really thought it would say

Anna Genovese here and it would say a don'tana and there and again the feeling I have that makes me kind of sad is that they are totally erased

from the narrative even in death. I mean this is the closest that we'll ever get to

Anna. Yeah. You know, like in a weird way it's like

we can go to the places that she lived but this is like her physical remains and I think we've been so obsessed for so long with
