Colossians chapter one in changing people through prayer. The most powerful

thing you can do to bring about change in someone else's life is to pray for

that person. You say well that's true but I'm not too sure I know exactly what to

pray. I think I know how to pray but what do I pray to bring about a change in that person's life?

Well I want to give you a pattern of prayer that will help you to know how to bring about

change in someone else's life, but I want to give you a warning.

When you begin to pray for God to change somebody else's life, what can you expect to happen?

God's going to change your life. And if you will pray this prayer for someone else,

I can assure you something will happen in the person's life, but something is going to happen

in your life. And I want you to turn to

Colosians chapter one and I want us to read verses nine through

verse 11 or part of verse 12. So I want to sort of analyze this prayer and you'll see the

tremendous effect it can have upon someone else. Paul begins in verse 9. For this

reason also since the day have we heard of these things we have

not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Now what is he speaking of here?

I believe that every believer, really a sincere believer, wants to know the will of God, wants to know what

is God's mind about a given situation or a given decision. He says we're to pray to be filled with the knowledge of his will,
