And for a while, Lincoln Chafee was a Republican senator from Rhode Island.

He became a Republican senator when his father passed away.

He eventually lost that seat in the Democratic

wave of 2006. 2010 he wins the governorship of Rhode Island as an independent.

If you're a frequent listener to the Three Martini lunch, you know he ran for president very briefly as a Democrat in 2016, made famous mostly by suggesting that America has got to switch to the metric system,

clearly the most urgent issue of our age.

Now he's apparently a Libertarian,

and he's thinking about running for president again.

Boston Globe, Lincoln Chafee isn't quite ready to announce a long shot bid for the White. again. taking steps to prepare for the race.

Chafee was in Miami over the weekend for a quarterly meeting of the Libertarian National

Committee where he became a life membership level donor and met with party activists.

So Chafee says he's just early, he's getting to know these people, but he's taking the steps

to perhaps be a Libertarian presidential candidate.

According to the Globe, there are 43 Libertarian perhaps be a libertarian presidential candidate.
