Summary

Which college football coaches are heels and which are considered heroes? Ari, Stew Mandel and Seth Emerson list the villains and most influential and candid voices in the sport with the absence of Nick Saban. Speaking of Saban, he spoke openly about NIL and the state of CFB. What was he right and off about? The CFP is close to ratifying its deal with ESPN after months of negotiating; however, the organization continues to demonstrate dysfunction. Before dipping out, Seth gives us a 30,000 ft. view of Georgia in 2024, along with Missouri, who may be a top-3 team in the SEC next year.

We've got a lot to talk about today. First of all, we're going to get into the college football playoff news, what to expect. Stewart's been reporting the heck out of that and he knows what's going on, both with revenue share, the ESPN deal, expansion, not expansion, all that stuff. We're going to talk a little bit about Nick Sabin's trip to Capitol Hill, who I think would make a great politician. He's a handsome older man and, you know, has wisdom. But Seth Emerson wrote a great column about whether or not the comments that he made about NIL and the spirit of the game are misguided or correct. We're also going to talk about heels and heroes. Heroes of the sport, heels of the sport. I think it's interesting now that Sabin and Jim Harbaugh are no longer in college football. We don't really have the main voices or the main villains. And I'm excited to see who you guys think those are. We're going to check in a little bit on UGA, Missouri, and Penn State. And we've got a pretty good episode here. So first of all, be sure to follow the podcast on Apple wherever you listen to your podcast. Please help support the show by dropping a five-star review. If you leave a question in the review, we'll do our best to answer it on the show. And of course, leave us a voicemail on the until Saturday phone line for future mailbag episodes. That phone number is 316-462-9-8-52. Again, that is 316, 462. 9852. First of all, Stuart, how are we doing? Backyard renovation going well? It's going okay. It's going on. It's been going on for about three months. And I apologize to the listeners if they hear the sound of drilling in the background. So you already had a pool. What are we doing? Like adding some like tasteful palm trees or, you know, astro turf, a little putting green. What do we got going on here in the area? The pool needed to be replastered. So that's kind of the start of it. And then everything else, you're just going to have to ask my wife because she designed the whole thing. Yeah, I just had a calculator thing going in my head of how much that's going to cost. Good luck with that.

2:18.4

It's not pretty.

2:19.5

How are we doing today, Seth? I'm good. We put in a back deck last year, nothing planned this year, and that's the update for me. Okay, good. My backyard is just grass, and my neighbor's tree fell into my yard, and I don't know how to handle that because I don't want to turn this into a curbinge enthusiasm episode. Let's talk off air on that.

2:34.5

We've been. my neighbor's tree fell into my yard and I don't know how to handle that because I don't want to turn this into a Caribbean enthusiasm episode.

Well, I wasn't actually ready with an answer.

3:02.0

3:04.8

Oh, okay.

3:05.4

We'll see how that works out for me.
