Is this where the song's coming from?

The song isn't as much about a relationship as it is sort of about a certain degree of fatigue

and white knuckling in general, which I think

we're all sort of doing to get through these times. And I think this song was a relief to write

because it was for me about naming a lot of feelings that I had not wanted to look at very closely. And so in that sense,

there's some relationship business going down in there for sure, but more big picture, I would

say, just about kind of getting to the end of your rope a bit.

Well, so in your album, Daughter From Hell, this is the time capsule of you when the songs were written. But when you go back to The Secret of Us at that time, and your difference in how you're approaching life and how life is approaching you has shifted. So now you have one foot in the old world, and the other foot in the new world. And here you are in between trying to be centered between the two.
