I'm speaking to you from the set of Meet the Press, where we just finished today's broadcast,

our guest today, CDC Director, Rochelle Wollensky, exclusive interviews with Republican

members of Congress, Adam Kinzing, and Dan Crenshaw.

Here are my quick takeaways from the interviews with the CDC director.

The question was about the timing of this announcement, and largely our interview focused

on that sort of the guidance come, the decision come before, you know, why the decision

came before guidance was ready for schools, businesses, and other places.

It had the feeling of being rushed out.

It was a large chunk of my questioning was about that.

Is there any concern about a surge in trying to get people to wear masks again if that happened?

So we went through this and you know, you could tell that there was certainly, I would say,

the CDC director was at times I think frustrated with being able to both celebrate the news

that we don't need masks if you've been fully vaccinated and at the same time trying

to explain why when we don't have a majority of the country fully vaccinated now was the

time to do this with the mask.

And I think that's going to be the challenge.

How do you know if somebody not wearing a mask is being honest about their vaccination?

On the debate inside the Republican Party, well, obviously it's not much of a debate,

certainly not a civil war, it's turned into a purge, if you will.

Dan Crenshaw tried to argue that most of his constituents don't ask him about these

things and he tried to straddle the fence between being supportive of this chaining and not
