In today's show, we're gonna break down a new analysis

from the CDC.

Look, I know you're sick of hearing about COVID,

but this analysis is quite helpful

to better understand the trajectory of the pandemic

should a another one emerged down the road.

Because what the CDC actually found,

and I think it really flies in conflict

with what we heard around the messaging

and all the fear-mongering with regards to Omicron

late November, early December, 2021.

We heard that Omicron, it's more transmissible,

it's probably more dangerous

because of its increased transmissibility,

but many of us back then said, hold on,

there's a trade-off here,

when pathogens that are virulent,

when they increase their fitness and their ability

to infect more hosts, they actually,

that comes at a cost,

and that cost is reduced virulence

or decreased pathogenicity.
