Hi everybody. Welcome to Coaches Corner. So I've just got a quickie for you today

because it's really been on my mind and it's been coming up a lot and I want to talk to you about the difference between being strong and enduring.

So in our society being strong is a badge of honor.

It's something we're often praised for,

especially after we've been through a difficult time

or difficult circumstances.

People are like, oh you're so strong, you're so strong,

oh my gosh, you're so strong.

And we praise ourselves for it.

You know, we go through something difficult and we say,

you know what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and I'm going to be

stronger because of this we talk about our trauma and we're like oh it's made me

stronger and that is true but let's just actually dissect what strong really means.

So going through difficult things does make us stronger

in the sense that it makes us more resilient.

And resiliency is a very healthy quality of being a human being

because with resiliency we learn how to problem solve We learn that we can be knocked down and get back up.

We learn that we don't have to take everything so personally. That's much different

from pushing through something and enduring something and then calling ourselves

strong because we've actually just stuffed down and suppressed the feelings.

So let's unpack this a little more.
