But this time I did make some notes because I wanted to make sure I covered everything.

And this is, we're going to talk about cognitive behavioral therapy, but also

irrational beliefs and cognitive distortions.

And this is really the work of Albert Ellis, rationally motive therapy, rationality behavioral

therapy, or an Aaron Beck's model of cognitive

behavioral therapy, which many of you know who follow the program.

That is what I was specifically trained in.

Julie and I differ on theoretical orientations.

But we're going to approach this from just a cognitive behavioral

standpoint. So again, I don't do much therapy anymore as a neuropsychologist. I focus primarily

on diagnoses, but I do see a few people and primarily treat borderline personality disorder.

So in therapy, vocabulary is an incredibly important part of not only the therapeutic process,

but really dissecting an individual's thought patterns.
