Hey there. I am Gary Parrish. Welcome back, CBS Sports. I own college basketball podcast where we sometimes discuss camel fighting

dodo birds and leaky black. Matt Norlander is here with me. Let's get into it. You know,

often in television, we start a pregame show with just like an opening thought. Like that's

actually in the rundown. It's just like opening thought, just like big picture stuff. Tell us what

you're excited about.

We don't usually do that here, but it seems appropriate on a weekend like this weekend to

just start with something like that. So Norlander, good to see you on Super Bowl Sunday. How great

was this weekend? Let's just start there. Well, for everyone that gets to this after the Super Bowl,

how about that Super Bowl, by the way?

How about that game Sunday night, huh, GP? That was one heck of a game. For anyone dialing in

live, we appreciate you. We're trying to get this going before a Super Bowl gets revved up. And this was an

awesome, awesome weekend for college basketball. You know, we will get to where I was on Friday night.

But the thing I loved most about it was while there were a couple of instances where we had two really good compelling games going at a time, I like the fact that so much of it was staggered.

Connecticut and St. John's had Friday night to themselves. And then we really got, like there was some stuff early on Saturday that I, that was interesting. You know, Indiana picks up a controversial home win over Wisconsin, despite the most brutal officiating I saw over the weekend. That means a lot. Wisconsin fans are rightfully pissed. Indiana fans get a good win. like there was some stuff that happened earlier in the day oh hold on a second like be specific

on that because uh I I I understand the block charge situation but then the the foul at the very

end uh people seem to think like you know slow motion get this angle that he did get tripped yeah yeah

yeah no and there's something to that as well.

It's more that.

It's more that shouldn't have been a charge kind of thing. Gotcha. But I'm just saying like there was some stuff earlier on Saturday that was dial into, very interested in. But we know that the bulk of it was all on Saturday evening. And it started with Duke Carolina. and then as that was going, then the next block came with, you know, Michigan State, Illinois, Kentucky

Tennessee was in there, BYU Houston was in there.

There was just, there was a lot happening, but it was nice and spaced out.

And it made for, I was in studio for CBS Sports HQ.
