Well, that was a pretty crappy Saturday for Kansas State fans as the Wildcats blew a seven-point lead late and fall to Florida Atlantic and do not advance

to the final four. In a game that I wrote in the Patrons Post over the weekend, I felt a little bit

ripped off by. It was the same as watching Kansas in this year's tournament, watching Kansas try to

navigate its way through the NCAA tournament without Bill self, certainly left Kansas

fans with the feeling of, well, I feel a little ripped off.

It's the only term I can use and watching Keante Johnson sit the bench for most of the game

on Saturday for Kansas State. He was a leading score for either team, played only 17 minutes

in this game, and you just walked away from it feeling a little bit ripped off when

Keontay Johnson was on the floor. Kansas State was certainly good. He scored nine points in 17 minutes,

but also missed a possible four free throws. So he was on track where he could have had 13 points

in 17 minutes. You could see the kind of game that Keontay Johnson was going to have, and I think

the Wildcats would have been unbeatable.

It's one thing to get beaten out of an NCAA tournament.

It's another, like we got three schools here locally that we talk about a great deal.

I don't think Missouri fans walk away from it and go, okay, wow, I feel ripped off.

It was like, okay, good year, nice performances, played well down the stretch. Then they just played a horrible game that they were not in on, that they weren't winning. They just got beat that day. And somehow, while that's disappointing and you get mad at your team for doing that, it's a lot easier to deal with than watching Kansas lose to Arkansas and say, well, you know, if Bill Self had been on the bench, they'd won that game today because they wouldn't have blown their lead. I firmly believe that. And it's another to say, if you're Kansas State fan, Wildcats would have won that game, Keontay Johnson wasn't in foul trouble the whole time. Now, your coach's health and a player's foul trouble, all part of sports, all part of basketball.

These are not excuses. This is not like watching a game and blaming the refs, and there was plenty of that this weekend, as Creighton and Texas are both just simply sideways with the

officiating crews from their games. Craton was the victim of that last 10th of a second call on the shot and they

lose to San Diego State at the free throw line. It was, it was, you don't like to see those calls

at the end of the game. It did look like a foul to me. I understand what Greg McDermann isn't

talking to me. He isn't commenting. Doesn't we get fine. Didn't want to get trouble.
