This is Seattle now. This week, Ballard residents got bad news about their long-delayed light rail extension. Seattle is getting its seventh Trader Joe's, this time at Northgate, and hundreds of love locks were cut off a bridge in Gig Harbor. K-O-W editor Phyllis Fletcher and film critic Chase Hutchinson are here to break down the

week. But first, let's get you caught up. Starbucks says it plans to roll out a new

incentive program where baristas and shift supervisors could earn up to $300 in quarterly bonuses. They're also

expanding tipping options for customers. The company says the changes could increase employee

earnings by as much as 8% when the program takes effect in July. Unionized Starbucks stores

won't necessarily see these changes. The company says the new policies are subject to collective bargaining. The two sides are expected to resume contract negotiations this month. In other Seattle business news, sales revenue at Nordstrom has returned to its pre-pandemic peak of 2019. Bloomberg News reports, the company took in about

$15.8 billion last year in line with Nordstrom's record high. It comes less than a year after

the company went private and was acquired by the Mexican retailer El Porto de Liverpool.

And a traffic heads up for the weekend, beginning tonight.

Both directions of I-5 will fully close in Pierce County right near Joint Base Louis

McCord.

They'll reopen Saturday morning.

Same goes for Saturday night.

All lanes will close at 10 and reopen early the next morning.
