Friday of 2026, so it's time to set some goals, people.

New Seattle mayor, Katie Wilson, will be sworn in at City Hall this morning.

She'll take the oath of office, deliver her inaugural address, and lay out her vision for the city.

The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. on the first floor of Seattle City Hall.

The new year is ushering in a series of new laws and taxes here in Washington State.

Big businesses now face an additional tax on income over $250 million. It's expected to raise more than half a billion dollars a year for the state beginning in 2027. The state's rental car tax

will double this year up to about 12%. Striking workers are now eligible for up to six weeks of

unemployment insurance and the state minimum wage increased by nearly 50 cents to $17.13 an hour.

And the stakes are high for the Seahawks tomorrow night. If the hawks

beat San Francisco, they'll win the division, get the first round by, and get home field

advantage throughout the playoffs. If they lose to the 49ers, Seattle will drop to the number five

seed and have to play on the road for the wild card round. Kickoff is at 5 p.m.
