So we're seeing a lot of pushback, it would seem, but from a lot of it from the American, the U.S. media, on the utilization of the military to strike back at drug cartels and countries that support drug cartels,

specifically Venezuela.

And the pushback, a lot of pushback is coming from our government,

you know, the media obviously pushing back as to why are we using U.S. Marines,

why are we using F-14s to fight against the drug dealers?

One of the things is that when you look into it, how organized are these cartels, like major, major

corporations? And they make more money than most major corporations, billions and billions of

dollars. And they could not operate these drug cartels unless their governments was somewhat not really behind them either turning a blind eye

or actually involved in the drug trade with them. According to the New York Times, this is the latest

headline dated, I believe it was today, excuse me, yes, on the fourth, excuse

on the fourth. The headline is Trump claims the power to summarily kill suspected drug smugglers.

The move to treat criminals as if they were wartime combatants escalated an administration

pattern of using military force for law enforcement tasks at home and abroad.

By ordering, and this is from the New York Times, by ordering the U.S. military to similarly kill a group of people aboard what he said was a drug smuggling boat,

President Trump used the military in a way that had no clear legal precedent or basis, according to specialists in the laws of war and executive power.

Mr. Trump is claiming the power to shift maritime,

counter-drug efforts from law enforcement rules to wartime rules.

The police arrest criminals suspects for prosecution

and cannot instead simply gun suspects down,

except in rare circumstances where they pose an imminent threat to someone.
