Go with me over to Luke 17. I've had an incredible afternoon. I didn't go home today.

I just wanted to lay under the ark for a little while. Amen? Did anybody else want to just lay under the ark for a little while?

And the Lord began to

bring me back to some things he's been talking to me about for some time about Thanksgiving.

I grew up in a charismatic Pentecostal type expression, and one of the mindsets that bothered me,

even in my youth, was people who came with expectation, which is incredible, but no Thanksgiving.

So as soon as God moved, they expected what he was going to do next.

And expectation is a powerful thing, but it's an illegal resource to release without Thanksgiving.

So if you can't turn and thank him for what he's doing, it's actually illegal for you to ask him for what you want to receive next.

Because Thanksgiving seals what he just did,

and the degree at which we give Thanksgiving determines if we're positioned to safely receive what he wants to do next.

So he keeps us postured in gratitude, not because it helps him.

It's not benefiting him for us to thank him, but he understands that it puts him. It's not benefiting him for us to thank him, but he understands that it puts an appropriate degree of value on the greatness of what the Lord's doing. And in an attempt to get

to what God's about to do, oftentimes we don't have an appropriate degree of gratitude for what he's already

doing. There are great days ahead and these are great days right now. There's a great move of

God coming and we're in a great move of God right now. I've often said Jesus is the only thing in

history that had the capacity to be both here and coming.

Jesus is having the conversation with the woman at the well, who we know is St. Fotini, we learned around here.

When Jesus is having that conversation with that woman, here's how the conversation goes.

She says, my people worship on this mountain, your people worship on this mountain, because as soon as he pointed out her adultery, she wanted to turn it into a theological conversation.

Let's talk about anything but what we were talking about a minute ago when you were asking me the provocative question, where's my husband?
