comedian and Emmy-winning writer who's had a long career in this business. A legend, you might say.

Her name is Carol Leifer, and she's written on some of your favorite shows, S&L, Seinfeld, Curb,

and more recently hacks on HBO, on which she was also a co-executed

producer, and she won an Emmy for it. Carol's also the author of a very practical book that's out now.

It's called How to Write a Funny Speech for a Wedding Bar Mitzvah graduation and every other

event you didn't want to go to in the first place. And that's exactly what it's about.

How are you?

I'm better now that I'm with you. Oh, yay.

I actually, I was just, we were just talking about Ted Danson because Ted does a podcast here, and I was on his podcast this morning.

Nice. And it just, I, you came up because, uh, he, I was starting kind of about my history with Conan.

Right.

And one of the steps in my history with Conan, uh-huh.

Is going to a pilot taping of Jeff Garland's, a multi-camera sitcom, that never went anywhere, where he played like a lovable cop.
