Today, a review of Carnival Glory. Also, staff writer Richard Sims is back after a couple of weeks

hiatus. Actually, it was my fault because I was traveling. So we'll jump right to him now. Hey, Richard.

Hey, Doug. So we start with a scary situation, which could have been a whole lot worse.

This one is kind of crazy.

If I'm being honest, apparently a 35-year-old man from South Africa was hired to work on the Norwegian encore.

According to an FBI report, he started his new job on Sunday when the ship set sail from Seattle on an Alaskan voyage, because we are now in Alaska season. But that night, he was caught trying to deploy a lifeboat. So, you know, he was taken to the medical center for evaluation. When he got there, he tried to escape by attacking a security

guard and a nurse. And then he ran into another section of the medical center. And I guess he had a

pair of scissors. And he stabbed a woman who was there to be examined for, you know, something,

probably, you know, seasickness or something. I don't really know. He was ultimately taken to the brig, and then when the ship arrived in Juneau, he was arrested.

A federal district judge will decide what happens to him next.

But if he's convicted of all the various charges, then he could be facing a whole lot of jail time and very, very big fees for his, I guess you'd call it his stunt.

I don't know what you'd call it.
