The 20-year-old Spanish player, Carlos Alcaraf,

has beaten seven-time champion Novak Djokovic

to claim his second grand slam title after a tense and thrilling match

that lasted almost five hours.

Speaking right after the final,

Djokovic, who has beaten on centre court for the first time in ten years,

told the crowd,

it's a tough one to swallow when you are so close.

I lost to the better player and I have to congratulate him and move on.
