Welcome to the Grows Show today talking about growing on autopilot. I don't like it, Scotty. I mean, I think it works good for airline travel, maybe, but I don't know about the grow. Autopiloting and the grow, I'm not sold it out. We'll get into it, man. Welcome, Jaron. Good to be here. It's been a little while. Thanks for having me. All right, man. All right. Thank you. Jaron from New Mill guest on the show today. Stay tuned for some great conversation. First, I'm a shout out to real growers because I know if I had to grow on autopilot, I'd be throwing some grow dots in there, man. Oh, yeah. As far as just water only, I'm not worried about pH mixing nukes. somebody's watering for me, they're not going to screw it up, put the dots in the soil, and you are good to grow.

You like it?

Good to grow, Scotty. I may be on an airplane right now. I take the week off. I'm taking this week off. And I'm not worried about my grow. Man, I know nutrients are going to be released as they need to be.

Spot on. So right on, man. Thank you for the shoutout. Dude. Check out real growers.com

on code dude can hook you up, get yourself some dots. So let's hop into this, man. Autopilot growing.

1:07.2

Jaron, welcome. You travel a lot. You're a hardworking rep a rep a new mill among some other products so yeah man well yeah i mean it's it's it's definitely a question i get asked quite a bit like how do you how do you you know pull off high quality product and spend as much time on the road as you do yeah uh the answer is it's not easy uh very carefully. I would say, honestly, a product like GrowDots, especially if you have somebody babysitting to grow, that's a super nice alternative. And honestly, it's probably even something where when I've got some of these extended trips, wouldn't even be bad for me to, you know, sprinkle a little bit on top. Who takes care of you're growing? You're gone. Well, so my wife takes care of it for the most part, but in all honesty, I have most things pretty much automated at this point. Right. So a little bit of hand watering in the veg is needed, which I'll usually pre-mix a tank. So it's just, you know, pulling off the tap, if you will, for the veg and then flowers all automated. So I do, yeah, I mean, it's, I mean, one, obviously you need to really stable. You need something that's going to be very straightforward like grow dots or even like a trop system, which you've seen like the tensiometers, middle tensiometers of those little trots. The blue mons. The blue mats, yeah, yeah, yeah. That would be fantastic with GrowDots as well because you're literally, you're filling up a tank and you're taking off and it's kind of doing its own thing with the watering and the nutrients are all taken care of within the substrate. For somebody like me, go ahead, go ahead, Brett. Take it down the list. Like first, you mentioned irrigation. So how is your irrigation automated in the bloom? You said you needed some hand watering and veg, easy enough. How is your, what type of, are you? So it's a, it's a grow and flow system from hydro farm. It's an old system they've probably had around for, I don't know, 20 years, at least under that name and maybe another

2:52.0

20 before.

2:53.5

Is that the timer on the side of it? It's got the timer on the front. It'd be similar to like the Titan bucket systems. Essentially, you have a control bucket. You've got a reservoir. You have a control bucket. And then you've got a series of buckets that are downline from the control bucket. So it operates just like if you were to show the system to any plumber, they'd be like, oh, I get this immediately.

2:52.6

Sounds a little bit like my real. downline from the control button. So it operates just like, if you were to show the system to any

3:07.9

plumber, they'd be like, oh, I get this immediately. Sounds a little bit like my real bucket.

3:12.5

Because, you know, water just evens itself out. Like your toilets do the same thing. Yeah, exactly.

3:17.3

So you said that what's nice about this system is it does have a float within it. Traditionally,

3:22.8

those bucket systems will just flood all the way to the

3:25.6

top, which is fine if you're doing like gross stones or something like that. But I like to use

3:30.9

media. I like to use cocoa in the situation. So I'll keep my float down a little bit lower and let it

3:36.0

actually just leach up to the top. So I actually want to even see like it should take me a little bit of

3:41.5

scratching in to start seeing a wet layer. I don't like seeing it completely wet on top. I actually like seeing a bit of a dry layer on top. But you get motorcycle jackets to just say bottom feeder. Well, I tell me, and I actually took this from you, you know, sipping, not dripping. And I have people be like, well, how do you grow? I'm like, I'm a sipper. You know what I mean? And it's, it's, and obviously,

3:40.3

there's a number of ways to do that you could do a traditional you know flood table if you want it where you would just pack it full it's a little more sea green style people put a bunch of one gallons and just run a whole table a lot more water um this is actually a pretty know, this is a pretty, it's a pretty efficient

4:16.3

system, you know what I mean? It's a bucket and bucket system. Anyway, the premise is it's out of

4:21.1

water. It's flooded twice a day, floods out of your, out of your main reservoir. I keep the main

4:26.4

reservoir continually circulating. I don't run an airstone in it because that changes pH. It can also bring in anything that might be, you know, dilaterious. It's in the air straight through your tank. But I do want, especially with something like New Millennium that has in particular matter, I want that to be constantly mixed. So I do have a recirculating pump that runs 24-7 in it. Sure. Now, if you had too big a pump, that could heat up the water.

4:48.3

That could be a problem.
