Hello and welcome to Candidates of Liberty. This is episode number three. I am Brian McWilliams, one of the three hosts on this new podcast from the Lions of Liberty. And if this is your first episode, basically the impetus of the show is that there are so many great libertarian candidates out there running that we wanted to dedicate a very special show with shorter interviews to talking to some of these people, letting people know what they're up to, that they can get out, get their vote out, and help move our libertarian cause forward.

So welcome Matt Waters. Matt, of course, is running for Senate in Virginia.

And Matt, so before we get into your actual campaign issues, I want to know a little bit more about you as a man and as a libertarian.

How did you come to become the big L man that you are?

Yeah, that's a good question, Brian.

I mean, you know, there's a lot of different ways I could answer that question.

I can talk about politics.

I can talk about elections I've been involved in, you know, backstabing.

I can talk about disappointing, you know, folks who have been nominated, you know, the John McCain's or the

Mitt Romney's or the Bob Doles. And I could go on and on and on. You know, then I could look at the

actually the philosophy, which is really what drew me back in. You know, I was a reply, you know,

I call myself a, you know, recovery Republican. And we are, you know, we continue to hold our nose and we continue to vote for the lesser
