Hi, this is Ebody and X, and welcome to the Candid Frame. Now, as you have no doubt noticed, we haven't been releasing episodes for the last several weeks. And the reason for that is a variety of different things.

0:25.6

There were some personal things that were happening, but the key thing was that my studio experienced some flooding damage.

0:35.6

My studio is a converted garage at the end of a driveway and the driveway

0:40.2

slopes down. And the drainage system for rain has been adequate for as long as we've lived here,

0:47.9

especially the last three years since I have been producing the show out of that studio.

0:53.3

But it seems like the system, specifically a pipe

0:57.7

that is supposed to lead water away from the driveway and out to the back of the property,

1:03.3

well, it got clogged with roots. And one morning as I was going out to go to work and I was going to

1:09.7

get my bag, I saw this rising water level,

1:14.1

and it was rising really quickly. It happened so quickly. The water level rose, went over the

1:21.7

door sill, and water started coming into the studio. And I have to tell you, I tell you, I was quite the panic.

1:30.1

I was just trying to figure out what the hell to do.

1:34.0

And thankfully, the downpour was limited for a period of time.

1:39.0

So though there was a good amount of water they got in the studio,

1:42.7

I was able to sort of bail it out and pump it out

1:45.9

and do what I needed to do in order to prevent as much damage as possible from happening.

1:53.5

And thankfully, there was no major damage in terms of computer equipment, books, or personal items, but I couldn't use a studio

2:03.7

anymore. So it required me to sort of contend with prioritizing getting all of these things

2:12.3

addressed. First, getting the interior of the studio treated for water damage and for the potential of mold,

2:20.4

and trying to figure out what I needed to do with the drainage system of this back area of our property.

2:27.6

So I've been dealing with contractors and getting various estimates and options as to what to do.

2:34.8

And I've been taking my time.
