Hello. Welcome to Media Roots Radio. How's everybody doing out there?

Even though I'm doing this intro by myself, we actually have three-person podcast today.

Abby will be joining us.

And we have a special guest who we've been planning to bring on Meteoroutes for quite a long time.

And we felt like now was a good time to do that.

Her name is Mexie.

Some of our listeners out there may have already heard of her and her content. She's a postdoc from Toronto. She has a PhD

in political ecology. She runs the YouTube channel Mexie and co-hosts the Vegan Vanguard podcast.

On both of these platforms, she makes content mostly geared towards human and animal liberation

in sort of a universal sense.

She reflects on things and has discussions that feel more universal and less focused on American politics or electoral politics.

And I appreciate her broader and sort of more universal view on this and sort of her more humanistic approach, if you will, to the content that she puts out.

So we decided to bring Mexie on Meteoroute's radio to just go over a whole wide range of

topics. But right before we were about to record the podcast, I learned about the news of Robert

Aaron Long, who shot up two spas in Atlanta, killing eight people people so we start the podcast by discussing that

there's breaking news this morning will actually it happened last night so we're recording this

podcast on March 17th um in case anyone's wondering sometimes sometimes we release, he's a couple days later.

So just needed to clarify when we recorded this.

The news was a young man named Robert Aaron Long, a 21-year-old man from Georgia, went on an Asian massage parlor shooting rampage. And he hit up three different Asian massage spa places
