Canada, our neighbor to the north, our best neighbor, forever, our best neighbor.

Therefore, it is something of a challenge to explain why the president-elect of the United

States grouped Canada together with Mexico

are to say that the undocumented migration in swarms must stop

and the fentanyl brought in from overseas and smuggled across the border must stop.

It is a puzzle.

So I welcome Conrad Black, writing at the National Post,

a distinguished biographer, to help me understand what Canada did to deserve that association

with a country that is sadly guilty of not addressing the major threat to its own citizens,

which is the drug cartels that are making a great deal of money, smuggling human beings,

smuggling drugs, and general violence along the Mexican-American border.

Conrad, your column answers the question,

Canada and Mexico don't belong together.

I'm a puzzled, though, how Canada reacted to suddenly the President-elect

making this odd statement.
