Welcome back to Buck. I talk. I'm Stephen Means. That's Stefan Christnick. And that is Andrew

Gillis. We talked with Ryan Day ahead of Ohio State's matchup with Texas on Saturday,

number one versus number three on an eventful Tuesday. You're listening to this on a Wednesday, though. News stuff first. A lot of this pod is going to be us trying to have a conversation about Julian Sand and Archmanning. And I think this is a good time to have it because then we can spend the rest of the week diving into literally the rest of this roster. But first, before any of that news, Brian Hartline is going to be in the press box?

Is this the right move for Stefan for Brian Hart? The first year play caller, we've seen guys

called plays from the field. We've seen guys call plays from the press box. And when you're

trying to juggle his value to the

receivers versus him being able to like run the entire offense was this probably the right

move putting Brian Hartline in the box for year one? I think so. I think it's certainly going to

present it, maybe not challenges, but like oddness to it, just because, like,

Brian Harline, not just as a coach, but his entire life has been on the sideline for football

games, like as a player and then into his coaching career.

But I do, I've always thought that coordinators see the field better from the press box.

Chip Kelly certainly saw it that way last year.

And I also think because of the role Devin Jordan has with the receivers, I don't think Ohio State is going to lose too much with having Brian Hartline not on the sideline. It's going to be interesting. And like, we've seen coaches change in a season where they want to call it from. We've seen coaches change in the middle of the game. So it'll be interesting to see if there is some level of or lack of comfort with it if maybe Brian Hartland decides to pivot at some point. But I think also with Ryan Day being on the field, that also helps a ton. I think Ohio State's kind of a perfect situation for Hartline to move to the press box. The Devin Jordan aspect definitely helps. He's been around for three or four years now,

and they have a lot of trust and his ability to handle the wide receivers on game day.
