There's a little bit to talk about.

No, I think going forward, I think the firing of Brian Van Gorder has accomplished one thing going into the week.

It has made Notre Dame fans more interested in tuning into this noon kickoff against Syracuse.

I think that's fair to say.

I mean, people want to see what this looks like.

How much the defense can improve in seven days?

Probably not very much.

I mean, it's still the same guys out there.

It was interesting this week, sort of trying to poke and prod the defensive players to tell us what the heck's going to happen.

I don't really know how much they know.

You know, sort of got into it with Drew Tranquil about, you know, how much can you really change? And he's like, yeah, it doesn't

matter for playing 3-4 or 4-3. I'm like, okay, that's interesting. But I was more curious from,

can you cut out some of the checks? Can we see less Chinese fire drill before plays than we have this season?

It sounds like that's maybe a possibility, and I think that this week it would be a probability

and even a smart thing to do, because Syracuse plays at such tempo. I don't think Norma

fans will have seen anything like it short of like the Rich Rod DeNard Robinson.

Well, or North Carolina from 2014.

Yeah, I mean, from watching them all week, I mean, their quarterback who his health is up in the air,

although they do have a fairly experienced quarterback behind him.
