Welcome back to the Dershow. Today I want to talk about two issues that are in the news,

both of which I know something about. One is Nikki Haley's announcement that she is going to take on Donald Trump

around against him. And the other thing, if we have time, otherwise we'll talk about it tomorrow.

And that is Vice President Pence's decision to resist discipline from the special counsel on the interesting ground,

not of executive privilege, but of his role as president of the Senate.

We'll talk about that. I have a special constitutional expertise on that issue,

which I'd like to share with you. I just want to remind you, though,

But here you are. Let's talk about Nikki Haley. I got to know Nikki a bit when she was at the United Nations.

Obviously, she was a very strong supporter of Israel at the United Nations and a strong supporter of the United States.

And all in all, a great US representative to the UN. I know something about that job,

because my former boss, Justice Arthur Goldberg, served in that capacity.

And I kind of was an informal advisor to him during one of the most critical periods in history,

right after the 67 war when the United Nations Security Council passed Resolution 242,

which laid out the parameters of a potential peace. It's been 50 years and nothing's happened.

But in any event, I work with Justice Goldberg on that proposal.

And I got to know a lot of people at the UN. And I live right near the UN.
