Should Christians celebrate Easter? Just like we were doing at Christmas time, we are back on this question.

It seems to be a very hot topic among conservative evangelicals and the reform crowd.

We are back to debating in a pretty serious way whether we can celebrate one-time events and holidays as Christians.

Is that a good thing?

Is that not a good thing?

People who love the Lord, people who agree on a ton, people who have a good heart are coming to some different positions on this.

And so we are going to think through Easter today.

I want to give you four thoughts today as this is Easter week.

I'm going to use that term. Easter. Yes, it has some

connection to some pagan festivals and that sort of thing. And so you may choose on your own not to use

the term Easter. I'm not going to do a deep dive on that word. But there is disagreement over

whether we can even say Easter week or happy Easter at church.

From the outset, again, some Christians may not want to do that.

And if that is your choice, if that is where you land, I am not here to battle you.

I'm not here to fight with you.

I'm not even here necessarily to try to, you know, single-handedly persuade you to my side.

I more want to think about this issue as a Christian, and I want to try to do so in a biblical way and in a reasoned way,

and in a way hopefully that does make folks on all sides think, but that invites further
