So Brian Van Gorder out.

As everyone listening to this podcast already knows, Notre Dame has a new defensive coordinator.

His name is Greg Hudson, former Notre Dame Reserve linebacker, which I think is maybe notable a little bit, but ultimately, Brian Van Gorder, 30 games here, record setting in a negative way, defensive statistics all across the board.

I mean, really, it's an all- can eat statistical buffet when you look at brian vanguard's defense and how you want to pick it apart

i think we all have our favorites for me it was the 60 yard plays allowed this year five a national

worst under bob diaco they allowed four and four years of that

distance um so if you want to know why noreme has a new defensive coordinator to me big plays are the

ultimate indictment of a fundamentally unsound defense and that's what nore Dame was playing. Well, it's addition by subtraction.

That's your benefit.

And the positive is that long term, he's not going to be around to continue to pollute your defense

because it wasn't ever going to get better.

To me, that was really obvious after the Texas game. And Pete, you talk about

big plays. They went and found, you know, the last 15 games, they've given up 16 touchdown,

quote, drives of three plays or less. I mean, just, you know, we were talking Tim about sudden
