Summary

Meet Todai Robot, an AI project that performed in the top 20 percent of students on the entrance exam for the University of Tokyo -- without actually understanding a thing. While it's not matriculating anytime soon, Todai Robot's success raises alarming questions for the future of human education. How can we help kids learn the things that humans can do better than AI?

0:13.0	AI researchers have always said that we humans do not need to worry
0:19.0	because only many of our jobs will be taken over by machine.

0:26.1	They have also said that AI will create new jobs, so those who lose their jobs will find a new one.
0:34.2	Of course.
0:35.7	But the real question is, how many of those who may lose their jobs to AI will be able
0:42.9	to land a new one, especially when AI is smart enough to learn better than most of us? Let me ask
0:52.4	you a question. How many of you think that AI will pass the entrance examination of atop university by 2020?
1:03.0	And many.
1:05.0	Okay, so some of you may say that.
1:09.0	Of course, yes.
1:13.2	Now singularity is a issue.
1:16.3	And some others may say,
1:22.0	maybe, because I already won against a top girl player.
1:26.8	And others may say, no, never, mm-mm.
1:28.3	That means we do not know the answer yet, right?
1:32.3	So that was the reason why I started Todai robot project
1:37.3	making an AI which passes the entrance examination
1:41.3	of the University of Tokyo, the top university in Japan.
1:46.0	So this is our Todai robot.
