It's only me because we've already recorded this once, sitting on George's sofa,

and the mics that we used cut out halfway through,

and I didn't realize until it was too late.

So we're going to write that wrong and make sure that we complete the set.

This is our seventh and final promotion special of the 2526 EFL season,

and we really hope that you've enjoyed it as an addition to the NTT20 landscape.

I'm absolutely certain we'll be doing this again next year.

It's been a really good exercise in recognising the specifics and the uniqueness of each success, each promotion success achieved this season in the EFL. Cambridge United have bounced

straight back to League 1 from League 2 this year and I'm going to explain how they've done that.

And I'm going to start by apologising and holding my hands up, because preseason, I got this completely wrong.

I predicted Cambridge to finish 19th, and they finished third.

It looked like a poor prediction from basically the first month of the season and only got

worse from there. I love that I got that wrong because it reflects the fact that Cambridge

bucked the trend. It was a pretty safe bet to predict any of the four teams dropping down from

League one to finish in the bottom half of League two. Because with Crawley and Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers, who all came down with Cambridge,

all finishing in the bottom half, that means that in the last four completed seasons in

League 2, 13 of the 16 relegated League 1 teams have finished in the bottom half 80%.

So, if you pick all four of them to drop into the bottom half, generally you're going to be
