And last episode featured Jake Weber sharing a story that came out of a photograph I'd found him featured in that illuminated a part of his past.

And it occurred to me, Brandon, that you have a similar story about finding out about a person's past through a photograph that you had not previously

known. Do you know what I'm talking about? I have no idea what you're talking about. Your father.

You know, I'm trying to think about order to tell the story, and because it's a can of worms.

Let's see.

You have to start out to try to describe my dad.

Sure, yeah, yeah, that'd be great.

You know, meeting your father from the outside,

he always struck me as a very reserved, quiet, yeah, that'd be great. You know, meeting your father from the outside, he always struck me as a very reserved, quiet, intellectual, conservative. I never really got to know too much about him, but it was clear that he was a hardworking upper middle class man who'd made his way in life

and provided for his family, clearly loved you and your brothers.

But yeah, it was hard to get a word out of him edgewise.

Yeah, he was very quiet.

And so any information we can get out of him was, you know,

frequently a surprise.

And I think the reason was he really had transformed himself so much

from the circumstances that he was born in.

I mean, he would probably describe it as a shoeless redneck growing up in

Anchor Rome, you know, where he was just, he was just an ignorant redneck. I mean, he basically,
