a Californian to comment on news from California of a heat dome over the Central Valley,

the San Joaquin Valley, the bread basket of the solar system.

In Death Valley, it's said to be 130 degrees Fahrenheit. That's hot.

But Death Valley is appropriately named, so you're not too shocked.

The heat wave is peaking this weekend. We're told.

The question is, what does this mean for the valley? Is this bad news?

Devon, a very good day to you. I'm learning the weather of the valley from you over years

and we spent weeks talking about the big melt of the snows from last winter.

Now we're looking at the big heat dome over the valley.

Is there anything striking or unusual about this?
