remembrance of Jerry Brown. Several times Governor I lost count there in the 21st century and to help

me remember Bill Whelan of the Hoover Institution, he's the host of Policy and Politics at the Hoover Institution, as well as the host and narrator of the

goodfellas, his combination of remarks on video, on TV, and as a podcast with his of enough to remember Jerry Brown as a governor in the 20th century and then he came back for an

encore, two encores in the 21st century.

Bill, your column about Jerry Brown immediately made me what you said I was prey to.

Nostalgia.

I remember Jerry Brown riding that fast train in China.

I remember Jerry Brown saying governors are for big things. He wanted to build the fast rail. He wanted

to build an aqueduct, I think, from the glaciers of Alaska or something. All of that has not

happened.

But remembering Jerry Brown, what do we now make of him looking backwards?

So what I was pointing out in the column was there is this sort of sentimental

journey when it comes to Jerry Brown, who has mentioned served twice as governor in the 70s

and days and came back to serve again from 2010 to 2018 giving way to our current

Governor Gavin Newsom. The sentimental thought about Jerry is this John that he

was the all-wise all-knowing Jerry sort of like Marcus Arelius, the many

gladiator,
