Now and again there are reports of Mountain Lions some famous some celebrated after their death

they're hit by vehicles however this particular Mountain Lion seems an odd Mountain lion out and I need help to understand why

mountain lion would take the risk of attacking a human being in this instance two

human beings two brothers hiking in a wilderness trail.

I welcome Dr. Ted Stankowich of the Mammal Lab at California State University Long Beach, who has helped me before understand mammals

and their behaviors.

What I've learned living in a forest in Connecticut is that

predators don't want to have anything to do with human beings.

They've got their own work cut out for them.

And I've also learned from talking to colleagues

that Apex Predators are healthy for a habitat, not unhealthy.

And Ted tells me we're dealing with an Apex Predator.
