I am very glad to, thank you.

I am just glad to, thank you. I am just glad to see so many of you here tonight for

an historic event, because someone is going to be murdered this evening, I think. I actually

do say historic, please, okay, it's not all about laughs.

I say historic because in the nearly 14 years of Socrates in the city, we have never had two guests.

I have to say that's completely intentional. It's just the hassle.

Who needs the hassle?

Having one guest, you know, it's worked for us.

But I did think, you know, if it was possible at some point to try two guests, I would want to do that.

Because all the shows that I loved growing up with in the 70s, Dick Cavett, who

apologizes he could not be here tonight, but his show, sometimes he'd have on two

people, sometimes very different people, and always two separate people.

If there were two, does that make sense? And thank you. And then

of course, Merv Griffin would always have at least two people. Once he had on Spiro Agnew for the

whole hour, I remember that before Agnew was a laugh line. But I'm Greeks, I don't laugh too hard.

And then, yeah, and usually Merv, if he had on two or three guests,

at least one of them was either Chero or Jamie Farr.

I don't know if you remember that.

And then, of course, who can forget Mike Douglas?

Most of us, yeah.

Now, don't... But, you know, actually, I don't forget. I really enjoyed Mike Douglas, most of us. Yeah. Now, don't, but you know, actually, I don't forget.
