But first, Alphabet, parent of Google, went to the debt markets this week, raising tens of billions of dollars to fund its AI spending.

One of the bonds Alphabet's offering, issued in British Pounds, has a maturity date of 100 years

from now.

This is very unusual in the corporate world.

Juleberg-Solomon is a managing partner at the venture firm Collab Capital.

I asked her what she makes of Alphabet doing this kind of borrowing.

I think what it signals is

that Alphabet is in this for the long haul. They are really putting a huge amount of capital and

now entering the debt market to put even more capital behind building out data centers and really, you know,

positioning themselves to win this AI race.

Yeah.

And I think it might be good to remind everybody that this borrowing is being done by Alphabet,

a company that already possibly has more money than God herself.

You know, what does this say to you about the AI boom?

Yeah.

I mean, I think the fact that they're issuing

debt, given where they are from a balance sheet perspective, just really demonstrates that
