But fear not, listeners, because today I want to talk about cars.

Yes, the movie, but also the vehicle, because I think the auto industry has had a really interesting year.

One strike that we haven't really talked about on the show is

the United Auto Workers Strike, which started on September 15th and lasted about six weeks.

This was the first trilateral strike against Ford, General Motors, and Stalantis, they own Chrysler,

and a lot of it had to do with paying workers to account for inflation, getting overtime

and retirement benefits back, and doing something about electric vehicles. And it made me think about

the way EVs have made this big splash with people like Joe Biden claiming that electric pickup

trucks will change the world and save the

ice caps. But on the flip side, it's created this odd culture around companies like Tesla. It's got

auto workers concerned about losing their jobs if EVs take over. And I wonder how this affects

someone who's trying to buy a car in 2023.
