Butch Thompson is the head baseball coach at Auburn University. He began his coaching career at Birmingham Southern and after stints at Georgia, Auburn and Mississippi State, he returned to Auburn and was. named their head coach in October 2015. 

In 2019 and 2022, Thompson led Auburn to the College World Series and has 256 career wins in his eight seasons with the Tigers.
