The rise of New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani

is raising questions about whether other cities will embrace his progressive policies.

We're seeing civic leaders, at least from one party,

lining up basically against innovation, against private property,

against local business owners, that is very worried.

In just a few days, New York City, the world's business capital, will have a new mayor,

Zohran Mamdani. The self-described Democratic socialist platform includes free buses, universal

childcare, and city-run grocery stores. Prominent Democrats hesitated to support Mamdani in New York City's mayor race.

Since his victory, Republicans nationwide have been raising red flags about his policies.

Some of these ideas may appeal to residents of one of America's most expensive cities.

Critics fear his use of class warfare tactics and promotion of reliance on the government

may harken back to the early stages of other failed or even destructive political movements

in world history. Dr. Eric Patterson is the president and CEO of the Victims of Communism

Memorial Foundation in Washington, D.C., and the former dean of the

School of Government at Regent University. He joined me just days before Mamdani's win back on

October 31st. You are running such an important mission there at the Victims of Communism

Memorial and museum.

Just so everyone knows there's a museum in Washington, D.C. I think everyone should take a moment

long history here going back to the early 90s.
