I'm Taylor Riggs, and this is the Fox Business Rundown.

Friday, February 14, 2025. This week after unveiling tariffs on steel and aluminum,

President Trump signed a memo to explore how the U.S. can put reciprocal tariffs in place,

telling the press that if our trade partners charge us, then we charge them.

Because what it's essentially saying is, if you don't want us to raise our tariffs on you,

then you should lower the tariff you have on us.

It puts other countries in the hot seat.

And what I think you might end up getting out of this, not surprising with Trump, are some deals. The Trump administration, after issuing a flurry of tariffs, is now looking into how they can levy even more in the approaching months.

The Commerce Department and U.S. trade representatives have been directed to study the various

ways America is being charged on trade. The president's memo calls for plans to be made on how to

issue these reciprocal tariffs on U.S. trade partners, saying in the Oval Office that this is for

the purpose of fairness and that whatever countries charge the United

States of America, we will charge them, no more, no less. His focus on tariffs in the first

100 days goes back to a campaign promise of his that he would aim to balance the nation's trade

deficits. Now, another headline this week was inflation.

The January CPI report showing inflation rising 3%.
