This past week I listened to a fantastic podcast documentary on the

footballing history of the city of Rosario Argentina. The jumping off point

was have you ever heard of a guy named Trinche Carlovich does that name ring a bell at all?

Nope. He is a player who everyone who have watched him swears is the greatest

Argentinian player of all time better better than messy or maradona.

But he is somebody who never wanted to be famous, never wanted to stray too far from his friends

and family, and so he turned down chances to play for the national team, turned down chances to play for bigger clubs.

Pele even tried to convince him at one point to play for the Cosmos and he said no.
